Logo and album artwork for the Italian artist and music producer Nicola Micheletti who describes his work in this way:
“My music starts from an idea conceived during the night shift and reaches you who are looking for endorphins in some funk shit.”
This was the first time I used an AI software for a major work. I used it to accomplish the liquid form effect in the background, something I wouldn’t be able to do in a short period of time without prompts.
My short take on this sensitive topic is: I feel comfortable to use it as a tool to accomplish some part of an whole – a texture, an object effect like shadows, highlights and reflexions, a 3D perspective – not as the source of my ideas and solutions, and definitely not as the whole artwork.
When I see printed ads completely done with AI, it reminds me of the arrival of the ‘Image Trace’ functionality in Adobe Illustrator back in the early 2000s. A lot of people were using it for whole artworks, including myself, and it end up as a saturated and boring thing to see after a while.
